CFS and the absence of autoimmune disease – ? NO elevation

Very interesting is the relationship of high nitric oxide (NO) to a low incidence of autoimmune disease.  In CFS patients, actual autoimmune disease is very rare as is hypertension.  There is also the suggestion of high levels of NO in CFS and responsiveness to the anti-malarial drug Artesunate, a potent NF-kB inhibitor.  I have waited 20+ years to see a single case of Lupus erupt in CFS and only one case of RA.  MS doesn’t seem to exist in CFS though we certainly have looked for it.
